They loved the New York Times crossword puzzle to death

Will Shortz, you brought joy to these women's lives. Found prose from today's obits.

From The NYTimes

Sheila Garvan Holderness, died last Sunday, June 23, 2013 at home in Brooklyn Heights, at the age of 73. Her death was unexpected but peaceful, and came upon her while she was engaged with her beloved Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle.

From The Boston Globe:

RAWLINGS, Arlene Hunt 78, a former resident of Manchester-by-the-sea, passed away peacefully at her home in Kennebunk, Maine on June 22, 2013, surrounded by her family and friends. … Arlene was a quick wit, a dangerous drinker, a lover of Pall Malls (unfiltered), the New York Times crossword (usually finished in under 20 minutes), dogs of varied pedigrees, and intense political debate.
