Event: "How Four- & Five-Year-Olds Learn to Read & Write"

Say what you want about Birkenstocks and People's Republics, Cambridge is a great place to live. (Too bad it's now way to pricey for most people. We got in small and pre-bubble.)

Two of the city's treasures meet at this event on Tuesday -- bilingual kindergarten teacher Jim St. Clair and the still-shiney, recently renovated CPL. Maybe Jim will bring his guitar. (Disclosure -- my kid was in Jim's class at another city treasure, the public, bilingual immersion school Escuela Amigos.)

Jim St. Clair is a nationally renowned kindergarten
teacher with twenty-six years of experience teaching
in the Cambridge Public Schools. Since 1996, he has
been the Senior Literacy Advisor for Between the
Lions, PBS’s award-winning literacy show.
